The interview may or may not be with the hiring manager for the role (who is the person who is the manager for the position). More likely it’s with the recruiter or someone from HR.
It’s basically a screening interview — and I like to call it the gatekeeping interview. Without mastering that, it’s hard to get any further in the process.
